Message	You can tell by looking at them that they don't change, they're part of the mold so it is not a reference to lot number or some sort of date code. We use the same type of permanent cavity identification in investment casting. You'd be surprised at how many individual parts (across all industries) have markings, numbers, etc that don't relate to the function, revision, or variety of the piece whatsoever. I prefer to use pin blips to differentiate cavities or revisions as it doesn't increase the rate of defectives in the manufacturing process and is only noticeable if you're really looking for it.
